Bodegas Elías Mora: Passion for Tinta de Toro
Founded in the heart of D.O. Toro, Bodegas Elías Mora pays tribute to the winemaking tradition of San Román de Hornija. Under the winemaking direction of Victoria Benavides, we craft high-end signature wines while respecting the essence of the land, ancient vines, and mastery in oak aging.

Our history and philosophy
Bodegas Elías Mora was born with the commitment to honor the ancestral knowledge of Toro's winegrowers. The winery's name pays homage to Elías Mora, the former vineyard owner who taught the winery to love and respect this land—tested by a harsh continental climate yet blessed with a unique terroir.
Led by winemaker Victoria Benavides, the winery has maintained a clear philosophy: combining technical rigor and modern oenology with absolute fidelity to origin. Every bottle is a pure interpretation of the terroir and a benchmark of elegance, structure, and longevity.

Our vineyards: The treasure of ungrafted vines
The true secret of Bodegas Elías Mora lies in its vineyards located in San Román de Hornija and Morales de Toro, between the Duero and Hornija rivers.
- 100% Tinta de Toro Grape: Indigenous variety perfectly adapted to poor, stony, and limestone soils under a climate of extreme thermal contrasts.
- Old Ungrafted Vines (Pie Franco): We preserve century-old pre-phylloxera plots growing on their original roots. These low-yielding vines yield an unmatched concentration of fruit, complexity, and elegance.
- Sustainable Viticulture: We cultivate the vineyard traditionally, with manual harvesting in small boxes and rigorous cluster selection on sorting tables before winemaking.

Aging: Balance and noble wood
Our winemaking combines temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with thoughtful aging in French and American oak barrels. This process transforms the natural power of Tinta de Toro into silky wines with polished tannins and exceptional aging capacity.
